Knowing Perception, Illusion, and Hallucination

We would often hear the term perception, illusion, and hallucination. In psychological science, the words are very familiar to those engaged in it. But what exactly is the perception, illusion, and hallucination in terms of the psyche?

Perception is the result of interaction between the two factors, namely sensory stimuli which are mapped to an individual or individuals and the factors that influence or processing stimuli that regulate intra-psychic. influencing factors can be biological, social, and psychological. Because of the influence upon between the two factors, in which also joined the association, then there was an outcome of specific interactions that are "mental picture".

Illusion is a sensory perception caused by the stimulation of the five senses are interpreted incorrectly. In other words, the illusion is an incorrect interpretation of a stimulus to the senses. For example, a patient with a feeling of guilt, can interpret the rustling of leaves as the sound of approaching. The illusion is often the case in the event of tremendous fear in people or because of intoxication, whether caused by toxins, infections, and use of narcotics and addictive substances.

The illusion occurs in various forms, visual illusions (vision), acoustic (hearing), olfaktorik (pembauan), gustatorik (taste), and the illusion of tactile (touching).

Hallucinations are sensory perceptions that occur without stimulation of the sensory receptors. In other words, hallucinations are perceptions without an object.

Hallucinations are a symptom of a serious mental illness (serious). Individuals hear the sound in the absence of an acoustic stimulus. Individuals seeing something in the absence of visual stimuli, smell a rat something without the stimulation of the sense of smell.
